The bioforca and the art of minimal tillage (NO-DIG)
The principle of minimum tillage
The basic philosophy is to minimize soil tillage to preserve its natural structure, microbial life, and long-term fertility. Every time you plow or turn the soil, you partially destroy the biological balance of fungi, bacteria, earthworms, and microfauna—all essential elements for soil and plant health.
Mulching sheets and pre-crop management
Opaque sheets (tarps) to cover the ground before planting or after harvest. Left on the ground for a few weeks, these sheets:
they suffocate the weeds,
they promote the decomposition of crop residues,
and allow you to prepare a clean seedbed without having to plough.
After working the soil with the Biofork, you can cover it with black or biodegradable sheets for a few days or weeks, so as to eliminate residual weeds and maintain humidity, without the need for weeding or deep tilling.
Too much tillage leads to loss of organic matter and degradation of the structure
The Bioforca therefore represents a perfect balance: it allows for deep but non-invasive cultivation, which aerates the soil without inverting its layers and without destroying microbial life.
The Bioforca as a key tool
Using the Bioforca allows you to:
maintain the integrity of the soil and its natural stratification,
promote the penetration of water and air,
stimulate biological activity and root growth,
improve structure and drainage without compromising surface humus.
A balance between tradition and innovation
Even with simple tools like the Bioforca, excellent agronomic results can be achieved if accompanied by:
good rotation management,
regular use of compost
and soil cover (cover crops or mulches)
